Ten Days of Awe

Ten Days of Awe

The 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) are called the Days of Awe.

The first ten days of the year determine if their names would be written in the Book of Life before the Books are closed on Yom Kippur.

During this spiritual season, the eyes of God are searching our hearts.

All those who truly belong to Jesus are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, not by works, but through the grace of God.

For Believers, our judgment day came and justice was served through the sacrificial offering of Jesus.

He who believes in Him is not judged; John 3:18

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. John 5:24

As Believes we can use these ten days of awe to deepen our relationship with God.

Begin each of the ten days (September 6 – 16th) with Psalm 139:23, 24

Search me, God, and know my heart;

Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts;

24 And see if there is any hurtful way in me,

And lead me in the everlasting way.

ACTIVATION

Practicing the Presence of God brings you into fellowship and intimacy that positions you to see as He sees.

One thing that helps establish is talking to Him, this is to be continually conversing with Him. He is always with you and never leaves you or forsakes you, so acknowledge His presence by talking with Him, by praising Him, and thanking Him. Ask Him what He thinks of specific situations.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, And He will direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:6

The Days of Awe end with a 25 hour fast and a Sabbath rest called Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement.
