SIVAN

SIVAN 5782

The month of Sivan corresponds to May and June in the Julian calendar.

Beginning May 30th after sunset ending sunset June 29.

Sivan is the third month of Spring.  The revelation of Spring is renewal, rebirth, new life.

Sivan is first mentioned in the Book of Esther.

Sivan means “their covering” probably of Persian origin.

CHARACTERISTICS

Giving

God used this time to give two gifts that changed the landscape of human existence; The Word and The Spirit. When we look at what God has given this month it becomes obvious this is a month to review our giving process.

Covenant

This is when the Jews accepted the commandments at Sinai; they were no longer just descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Now, they became “God’s chosen people,” who had chosen God in return, and would study and abide by the laws of the Torah as part of their service to the Almighty God.

It was a national decision to rightly join, or covenant, with God in marriage.

When we give testimony, it sets up the atmosphere from which that was spoken to happen again.

Pray and Declare this comes to pass for our nation.

America will make a national decision to be rightly joined,

as God’s chosen people, married to God.

Feasts

Sivan has the second of the three major feasts each year.

Shavuot and the Feast of Pentecost are three-fold in that we celebrate God’s provision. Physical provision of the ingathering of wheat. The provision of revelation through the giving of the Torah and the provision of Father God’s promise, Holy Spirit.

Remember, before God gave the Torah at Mt. Sinai, He instructed the Israelites to take three days to cleanse and consecrate themselves. Which God considered to be a marriage to the Israelites.  And again, before Pentecost, He instructed His disciples to wait on the Lord in preparation.

I encourage you to do the same.  Take some time before June 5 (Sivan6) to wait on the Lord, seek Him, and prepare yourself for the giving of the Word, the marriage to God, sealed in the Spirit.

Weddings

God considered Himself to be married to Israel on Shavuot making this a month of weddings.  Song of Solomon is a great book to read this month.

A month to be careful

This month is a very dangerous month.

The Law had to come down twice from heaven.

This is also the month of Jacob or Esau—the twins.  This month you will need to choose between what is pleasing to God and what is not.  Do you value His Supernatural destiny or what is in the natural?

Make your decisions in the light of eternity.

SENSE

The month pictures walking as the sense, which signifies going forward – continuous movement.  It is time to move from one level to the next.

TRIBE

Sivan corresponds with the tribe of Zebulun.

Zebulun’s name suggests, “the King desires to dwell with His Bride.”

The Bride must accept the wedding contract, which contains His Torah and Holy Spirit.

Sivan is the businessman’s month, noted for their ability in business and the marketplace. It is the month to learn the principles of finance, substance, time, and revelation.

The name Zebulun means exalted, elevated or lifted up to a high place, glorious, and noble.

According to Paul Keith Davis, “those who walk in the Zebulun anointing will have close personal knowledge of the Lord. They will dwell with Him. Those who are hungry for more of God will be enabled to draw out hidden treasures from the Word of God. By this anointing, a remnant of God’s people is going to taste the good word of God and the powers of the age to come (Hebrews 6:5). These pioneers will cross over into the age to come and bring the powers of that age back into our day. The Zebulun anointing, are the forerunners who are going to cause eternity to overshadow our realm. They’re going to experience things that we may never have dreamed about. They’re going to taste amazing things like controlling nature and controlling the elements.”

Being anointed is being smeared with the Spirit of God – would you like to be smeared with the anointing of Zebulun?  James tells us we have not because we ask not.

LETTER

The letter that corresponds to Sivan, is Zayin.

Zayin pictures receiving mercy for completion.

God is a God of order.

God moves through the months, not disconnecting from one another, but drawing one into another.

Sivan is a month to move into the strength you gained from the last month.

Read Psalm 84.

Once again, the redemptive-ness of God is highlighted this month, pulled from Nisan.  As you moved through the first two months, gaining insight and wisdom, it moves you into the fullness of God’s plan, and the restorative power of God, restores what was lost quickly. Our key phrase is “BUT GOD.”

MAZAL

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands.

Day after day pours forth speech, And night after night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech, nor are there [spoken] words [from the stars];

Their voice is not heard.

Yet their voice [in quiet evidence] has gone out through all the earth,

Their words to the end of the world.

In them and in the heavens He has made a tent for the sun,

Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;

It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.

The sun’s rising is from one end of the heavens,

And its circuit to the other end of them; And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

Throughout the ages, God has presented the Gospel in the Heavens.

And it is our job to search it out each month as the constellations circle through the heavens.

As our calendars govern our days and direct our time, God’s heavenly calendar was meant to do that very thing.

God’s calendar speaks to every creature on earth summoning us to meet with the Creator.  Taking time to learn the ways of God positions us for revelation and blessing.

Just as the moon replays the Gospel with its waxing and waning, the panorama of the stars tells of its creator through the placement of the stars and the interaction of the constellations.  So much of this has been hijacked by the New Age Movement, that many times we are no longer familiar with the intention God has for us the through the display of the constellations.

“He appoints the number of the stars, He gives names to all of them.” Psalm 147:4

This month the constellation is Gemini, or the coming of the twins- the Prince and Savior.

There are 85 stars in this constellation. Two of the main stars are Castor and Pollux.

The three decans [equal divisions of each sign of the zodiac] of Gemini,

Lepus represents the enemy, the enemy trodden underfoot

Canis Major Sirius represents the Prince, the coming Prince of glory

Canis Minor Procyn represents the Redeemer, the coming Redeemer

Interestingly, one of the decans from last month (Aries], was Cassiopeia, which represents the enthroned woman, freed and preparing for her marriage to her Deliverer.

We find this constellation of Gemini mentioned in Acts 28:11

And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

A Hebrew Blessing, praising God for renewing new moon.

“Praised are you, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who created the skies with his word, and all heaven’s host with the breath of his mouth. He gave them appointed times and roles, and they never miss their cues, doing their Creator’s bidding with gladness and joy. He is the true creator who acts faithfully, and he has told the moon to renew itself. It is a beautiful crown for the people carried by God from birth (Israel), who will likewise be renewed in the future in order to proclaim the beauty of their creator for his glorious majesty. Praised are you, O Lord, who renews new moons.”

Enjoy!
