IYAR

IYAR 5782

Iyar is the eighth month of the civil year, or the second month of the ecclesiastical year in the Jewish calendar. On the Gregorian Calendar it begins with sunset May 1st to Sunset May 30th.

Iyar is associated with the letter Vav. Vav refers to the hooks of silver, fastened to posts (amudim) to hold the curtain (yeriah) that enclosed the Tabernacle of God’s Presence.  It has connective power for joining heaven and earth. The connecting force of God is the divine hook that binds together heaven and earth.

The mazal (constellation) for Iyar is “shor” or the ox.  It is the left face of the four faces of the angels.

The word for “ox,” in Hebrew, also means to look, or to observe.

Iyar is the month of introspection for the sake of self-improvement.

The second month of the spring season is represented by the tribe of Issachar.  Judah, Issachar and Zebulun are the Tribes of Spring. Issachar understood the times and seasons, Chronicles 12:32 – And of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen were under their command.

Issachar means hired and the tribe engaged in hard work for hire. They also understood transitions and that God moves in cycles, which they taught others.

Start the month with Praise

The parting of the Red Sea and the drowning of their enemies is just the beginning of miracles the Israelites will witness. Rejoice in God, declaring His Word.

When Israel saw the great power which the LORD had used against the Egyptians, they feared the LORD [with reverence and awe-filled respect], and they believed in the LORD, and in His servant Moses.

Exodus 14:31

The LORD is my strength and my song, And He has become my salvation;

This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

  “The LORD is a warrior; The LORD is His name.

Your right hand, O LORD, is glorious in power;

Your right hand, O LORD, shatters the enemy.

 “In the greatness of Your majesty You overthrow and annihilate those [adversaries]

 who rise [in rebellion] against You;

Who is like You among the gods, O LORD?

Who is like You, majestic in holiness,

Awesome in splendor, working wonders?

You in Your lovingkindness and goodness have led the people whom You have redeemed;

In Your strength You have guided them with care to Your holy habitation.

You will bring them [into the land of promise] and plant them on the mountain

 (Mt. Moriah in Jerusalem) of Your inheritance,

The place, O LORD, You have made for Your dwelling [among them],

The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.

 “The LORD shall reign to eternity and beyond.”

 Exodus 15:2,3,6,7,11,13,17,18

The month of Iyar is full of spiritual nourishment for believers.

Below are listed the miracles that took place during this month. These events are testimony to the miraculous season we are in. In this testimony, God has given us authority to call it forth once again.

Ask God how these testimonies apply to your life.  What does each one mean to you.

Use these testimonies and move forward from here for your miracles.

Healing of the Waters

Then they came to Marah, but they could not drink its waters because they were bitter; therefore it was named Marah (bitter). The people [grew discontented and] grumbled at Moses, saying, “What are we going to drink?”  Then he cried to the LORD [for help], and the LORD showed him a tree, [a branch of] which he threw into the waters, and the waters became sweet. Exodus 15:23,24, 25

The month of Iyar is also known as Zif, which means radiance. Isaiah 58:8 speaks of the breaking of the morning or a time of radiance that will cause health to spring forth. If you need healing in your body, this is another highlighted season to be delivered and healed.

Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Isaiah 58:8

All affliction is as it were a sickness to the soul, altering the heart and countenance.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3John 1:2

Ask God for the healing of your soul, that the healing of your body would spring forth speedily

Miracle of Presence

Having been delivered and set free from the Egyptians, the Israelites are on their way to Mt Sinai to meet God.

God goes before them and leads the way day and night, supplying their necessities through His miracles.

They journeyed from Succoth [in Goshen] and camped at Etham on the edge of the wilderness.  The [presence of the] LORD was going before them by day in a pillar (column) of cloud to lead them along the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, so that they could travel by day and by night.  He did not withdraw the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from going before the people.

Exodus 13:20,21

God is always with you, He never abandons you or leaves you.

Practice His presence.

The next time you are afraid, unsure, confused – practice His Presence.

Psalm 56:3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

Miraculous Food and Water Provided

God leads them to “Elim where there were twelve springs of water and seventy date palms, and they camped there beside the waters.” Exodus 15:27

They set out from Elim, and all the congregation of Israel came to the Wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they left the land of Egypt.

Exodus 16:1

God Provides Bread

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will cause bread to rain from heaven for you…  Exodus 16:4

God Reveals His Presence

So, it happened that as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of Israel, they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory and brilliance of the LORD appeared in the cloud!

Exodus 16:10

God provides Meat

Tell them, ‘At twilight you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be filled with bread. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God.’ Exodus 16:11

Water Provided from the Rock

Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb; there you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, so that the people may [have something to] drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.  He named the place [where this miracle occurred] Massah (test) and Meribah (contention) because of the quarreling of the sons of Israel, and because they tested the [patience of the] LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us, or not?”

Miracles with Jesus

This is also the month where many see Jesus alive and filled with life after His Crucifixion.

He miraculously appears to those who were with Him at the Passover meal, to Thomas and the 500.

As well as the 153 fish Peter caught.

These are some of the events that led up to the giving of the Word, and the giving of the Spirit, which laid the foundation for the birth of the church on Shavuot, also known as Pentecost.

Spend time meditating in prayer and worship to feel the presence of the Risen Messiah in our midst.

When we move forward in faith now, the rest of our year can connect properly with triumph and overcoming.

Turn your fear, doubts, and wonderings into faith with the declaration of God’s Word.  For each of the churches in Revelation in the AMP John says, “He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God].” Jesus is The Word.

Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God?  He is the Word; do you believe what His Word says?

You are an overcomer.

The month of Iyar is to refine man’s innate character traits and prepare us to receive Torah, and Holy Spirit who came on the same day.

Use this month for this very thing – self- improvement, re-filling of the Holy Spirit, celebrating God.

Enjoy!
